At Greenfields Primary, our Forest School is an important part of how we support personal growth and inclusion. From Early Years through to Year 6, pupils enjoy regular outdoor learning sessions each term, making the most of the natural environment to explore, play, and learn.
These sessions offer children the chance to develop resilience, independence, teamwork, and confidence while building a stronger sense of wellbeing. Forest School encourages curiosity and helps pupils form a deeper connection with nature and the world around them.
The programme is designed to be inclusive—every child is supported to take part fully, whatever their background or ability. It is consistently one of the most popular aspects of school life, with pupils valuing the freedom, creativity, and reflection it provides.
Through practical activities, exploration, and shared experiences, Forest School nurtures both personal and social development, helping children grow into respectful, thoughtful, and active members of the community.
