We ask that all pupil absences are explained before morning registration. You can notify us in any of the following ways:
- Through the Arbor app
- By emailing office@greenfieldssbmat.com
- By phoning the school office
- By leaving a message on the answerphone (available until 8am each morning)
If a child is absent without prior notice and we have not received a call or message, the school will make contact that same morning to confirm the reason for absence. Please note that it is a legal requirement for schools to record the reason for every absence. At the end of each academic year, attendance figures must be reported, including any unauthorised absences.
For absences not related to illness (for example, attending a wedding), parents are asked to complete a Request for Pupil Leave of Absence in Term Time in Exceptional Circumstances form. This can be accessed via the Arbor app. All requests are reviewed by Mrs Prior in line with guidance from the Educational Welfare Office, and families will be notified whether the absence has been authorised or declined.
